Classic Espresso Martini Recipe

If you don’t know where to start with your coffee recipes, how about going for the classics first? This is a very simple Irish coffee recipe that is fool proof. No frills, no modifications.
To make an Irish coffee, you’ll need:
– 1 cup of freshly brewed hot coffee
– 1 1/2 ounces of Irish whiskey
– 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
– Heavy cream
First, brew your coffee and set it aside. Next, heat up a little bit of water in a separate pot until it’s simmering, then add the brown sugar and stir until it’s dissolved. Pour this mixture into the bottom of a glass mug. Add the whiskey to the mug, then pour in the coffee, leaving a little bit of room at the top for the cream.
Finally, whip some heavy cream until it’s thick enough to float on top of the coffee. Gently pour the cream over the back of a spoon into the coffee so that it sits on top.
We recommend using a medium or darker roast for an Irish coffee to work with the cream and whiskey. A light roast will have too much acidity for cream!
This drink is warm, smooth, and has just the right amount of kick from the whiskey. It’s perfect for warming up on a chilly evening or enjoying after dinner with friends.
